We recommend wearing comfortable, weather appropriate clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dusty. Closed-toe shoes are required for safety. In warmer months, lightweight breathable clothing, sunglasses, and sunscreen are ideal, while cooler mornings or evenings may require a light jacket or layers. Avoid loose accessories, and secure any items you bring with you. The goal is to stay comfortable while enjoying the ride.
Each experience typically lasts between 2 to 3 hours, depending on the route and time of day. This allows enough time to fully explore the terrain while staying comfortable throughout the ride.
All experiences take place in the Jacumba area. After booking, you will receive a confirmation with the exact meeting location and directions to ensure a smooth arrival.
Yes, you’re welcome to bring small personal items, but we recommend keeping it minimal. Secure storage is limited, so avoid bringing loose or valuable items that could be affected by dust or movement during the ride.
We recommend arriving at least 10–15 minutes before your scheduled ride time to allow for check-in, waiver confirmation, and a brief safety overview before departure smoothly. Experiences depart promptly as scheduled. Late arrivals may result in a shortened ride time, as we often have other guests scheduled.
Each vehicle comfortably accommodates up to three guests, allowing for a more personal and enjoyable experience while maintaining space and comfort throughout the ride.
Cancellations or reschedules are allowed up to two weeks prior to your booking. Within two weeks of your scheduled ride, bookings are non-refundable.
Operations are conducted in typical high desert conditions, which may include wind, dust, heat, cold temperatures, and variable terrain. By booking, guests acknowledge and accept these natural environmental factors.
For safety, High Desert Expeditions reserves the right to reschedule rides in the event of unsafe conditions, including extreme heat, high winds, lightning, storm activity, flash flood risk, unsafe trail conditions, or any other safety concerns. If a ride is rescheduled due to these conditions, it will be moved to a new date at no additional cost.
Refunds are not issued due to weather, as conditions are outside of our control. A reschedule option will always be provided.
Normal desert conditions such as light wind, dust, typical seasonal temperatures, or light precipitation do not qualify for cancellation.
This policy is included in the waiver signed at the time of booking.
